there is a lot of tall tales regarding what happens when you get dipped.
1 HMRC cant stop you in a car the police have to
2 the police inpound your car if they check you until HMRC come and do there official test of your fuel
3 you are liable for the recovery costs of your vehicle
4 the fine is £250 for having it in the tank and £250 for using it on the road
4 you also have to pay the fuel duty of the amount your tanks holds even if its nearly empty
5 you have 24hrs to drain your tanks after paying the finembut they never come to check as there under manned
5 if you get caught again its the same fine
6 if you get caught a 3rd time they take your car
7 the dye dosent stain your tank
8 the dye can show up on your filter even if you have changed to white

anything else you need to know just ask as Ive just been knobbled today for £540 anf £150 recovery charge,my stupid mistake putting 2 gallon in on a dat my local petrol staition had no diesel.
unless you can put up with the hassle and the time lost its just not worth it. unless you don't mind giving up your car and not paying the fine
