I made a deep 36 m socket for the output shaft and then had a friend help me make up a 1 3/4" nut with the clutch spline pattern in the middle. I put the gearbox in gear, hold the input shaft with the splined nut and then use the impact on the 36mm with the impact. No luck, no retainers or anything else I can see. I think I will try weakening the nut with a pencil grinder on Wed. or Thurs. night and see what happens. I sure hope those nuts are still available. Anyone know where to get one or two in case this happens again?
