HELP! Just bought an early mk3 xr3i to add to my collection of rs and old fords, the car has not been on the road for 20+ years, the guy I bought it from inherited it from his late father and left it untouched for years, the shell is in amazing condition and makes it well worth restoring, The problem is there was no paper work with the car and there is no sign of a vin number in the usual places to apply for a v5c. all i have is a reg number. I know the dvla can give you an age related plate but i would like to keep the cars original id. does any one have any ideas on how i could find the original vin number the car is on an x reg? thanks for any help.
