Yep it'll be those wires fella,should be no reason why connecting them won't solve the issue mate but just to prove it put a multimeter across the seat's wires that you took out,make a note of the resistance and if necessary get a resistor for about 2p to connect between the two incoming wires.
If the resistance is below 1ohm then just link out the cables.
