I have a x plate (2000) 1.8 Mondeo which needs it's clutch changed. I need some advice.

I have the Haines manual but that's about as much use as tits on a goose.

I have no workshop so am going to have to remove the subframe and drop the transmission out the bottom.

Here's my questions.
Are there any sensible short cuts i can use to do this? I only want to change the clutch!!
Do i really need to strip the car down like the Haines manual says?

I bought the car for a few hundred, six months ago and don't want to waste a huge amount of time on it. It's a great runner apart from the clutch.
