Yes thats the one. Ye mine is disconected was like it when i bought my van it is a mk4 1.8d converted to a td. I dont have any starting problems pump is timed correctly etc but my max fuel has been turned up a bit but by disconecting that i wouldnt say that you would get diesel knock etc. my cold start isnt conected either and it still starts up fine.
