if the pulleys as standard are just held by bolt then i just thought i could put thread lock on bolt and re tighten back in after i turn the cam -6deg. iv never done a belt on a zetec or any other similar engine(last was cvh and 8v vaux a long time back) so iv plenty to learn but im willing to try most things if it will work.

im a carpenter so have some knowledge on working with angled degrees and have some ideas on how i can make up devices to adjust fairly accurately.

its just the cost of the pulley that puts me off. for a start they come in pairs and cheapest ive found is £120

if doing it diy is too risky for the reward then i may re think it though??
