I have removed the disc pads from the rear of my Ford Focus 1.8 TDi 2006
The pads I have bought have 2 metal studs on the back one of each pair, the ones I removed do not it seems the removed pads have a spring layout on the back very thin, that clips around the callipers piston, at first I thought they may have been modified so the 2 studs slotted into the face of the piston but then thought because the pistons needed to turn to be retracted back for the new pads to be fitted that the piston would also have to turn as the pads wore down and if the slots where fixed to the piston this would not allow it to turn outwards. am I right and therefore have the wrong pads?
