This is true but from what i have read on here is that the heat cause the post CAT sensor to start playing up as it gets cooked.
If since you have your exhaust fitted you have engaged in maybe more sprited driving than before (exhuast does sound good btw) its got hotter and cooked the sensor and pushed it over the edge.
