mk6 fiesta 1.4 - is this a gearbox or clutch issue?
Hello there,
I've been doing a bit of self-diagnostics, and am not sure what exactly is causing the issues im experiencing.
Nothing i am experiencing is a major problem, just little niggles which i'd like to iron out.
1) When I release the clutch while still a bit on the accelerator, i hear a squealing noise, this is very few and far between as I dont do it much, only on lazy changes. I've been told this could be the release bearing squeaking. Is this something which would be fixed by a clutch change?
2) There is no issue with the biting point moving or any slipping in any of the gears, but occasionally, when I come to a standstill with my foot on the clutch, I'll get almost like a little judder which feels like its come from the clutch area despite the fact its completely depressed.
3) I've heard that the gearboxes are very temperamental in these cars, and I have the issue where its difficult to engage the gears. Reverse gear crunches 9/10 times. I've seen fixes for this which involve freeing up plastic parts of the box and greasing them.
Any ideas would be helpful!
Thanks in advance.
