Snooker cue tips will be 9 or 10mm as JP says. Blue Diamond tips all the way, then get a domer and grind it for about 5 hours till it's nice and thin with a nice shape and you'll be well away

Big fat American pool cues suck. Smaller tip = more spin, less accuracy and visa versa, so I'd think you would want more accuracy on a snooker table, well, I would anyway. And I love spinning round the angles and a pool table, so I go for smaller tips. Personnel preference I guess.
