sorry mate don't know what your saying ,you wouid't run one with no water but the guy running no water on his bb turbo it must be the problem, not oil ,i would never use a restrictor only if the turbo smoked may be, but they restricted standard and don't need restricting any more not unless there is a problem ,i have enought cages here thats blued the cage and melted ball not enought oil cooling to the balls
what im saying is it will be oil related causeing the problems not a lack of water, the little bit of water that passes around the housing will do naff all compared to the oil. i dare bet the engine has around 50 psi max oil pressure and theres a 0.6mm restrictor in there holding the oil back to around 15 psi feeding the stock restrictor which will make the turbo noisy through lack of lubrication.
