there was a statement released by a company that makes high quality models cant remember who it was might have been autoart, saying that the detail and price of models were going up as there are less and less people getting into collecting "toy" cars as electronic devices are being introduced to youngsters and its mainly the older generation who collect the models instead of playing with them, so they make the models as detailed and high quality as possible to get sales and as there arnt many sold (allot of companys do runs of say 1000 or so now) the prices are higher so that it is still profitable to make the models as their target audience is people who have time to enjoy the hobby of collecting the models and not people who spend all day sat on facebook
