Nowhere did I say a Walbro was better than an 044. I said a Walbro is a good intank pump for up to 500hp. They claim 255lph, although in the real world it's closer to 200lph at normal working pressures.

And as all 044's I have ever used already have an internal gauze....you really dont need to add another pre-filter. Although it can do no harm.

As for this 023....google sees one site list it at 168lph at 5 bar. That may be fine for about 400hp.
So either their listed flow data is wrong, or the Walbro does perform better.

If you need an 044 equivalent in a specific in-tank form, the 040 is the correct one to use. It flows a little less than an 044 though.
Although some listed flow data for that seems a bit daft claiming only 102lph, in reality it's closer to 280-300lph.
