Bit late but I would highly recommend the EMA course if you want to get into mapping. It gave me the know how to start playing with the maps on the rally cars instead of calling someone every time.

The best way to learn is by doing. The EMA course covers the basics of setting a ECU up and how it functions with all the actuators and then how to carry out simple calibrations.

Basically it gives you the confidence to start playing with mapping and gain some knowledge.
