It works different with a FI engine, as ignition is retarded on boost, so when you are told 10°, with what load is this?

Electronic control is preferred as this can be 'mapped' easily at different "Load sites", and you then have better control, also carbs can take alot of setting up, in terms of needles etc, with FI.

I don't know, but I don't think a vacuum advance unit is sutiable on a FI setup, tbh.
