i have an m reg rs1800 and unfortunately the shell is rotten!! so i bought a N reg SI to reshell it.

my question is in relation to the ECU, PATS and KEY CHIP

the ecu is CULT and i have checked the engine wiring on the SI i have and the wiring colours are exactly the same on the ECU plug.

what i would like to know, is the key chip relative to the pats or the ecu... i dont want to have to remove the dash to have to replace the pats box.. if its not necessary.
