sierra, capri's, bmw's and mx5's seem to be easy to find, the 740 and 200sx seem to be harder to find

my guess would be to strip it all (including aircon) but both front seats and dash, get rid of abs and powersteering depending on if it may cost quite abit if they got it, if not great, then lower it, uprate the brakes and weld the diff cause i don't think they will have lsd's unless one of the bmw's like 325/330 and some 5series may do, but might not be one for the money

make it light but also try to balance the car aswell by adding abit of weight right to the back of the car not as much as took out tho should be better than keeping all the weight spread through ?
