Havn't updated this in ages but I have made some steady progress over the christmas holidays, time is short for me at the moment and so is money but I can see a light at the end of the tunnel! Been focusing mostly on the rear end, rear axle is now all fitted and fully wleded in place. I found that the more I poked the more rust I found so that has now all been cut and replaced with fresh steel. Its now running fully adjustable coilovers and all fully adjustable arms.
Had a problem with the oil pick up pipe where it didnt seal properly into the block so have taken the engine out over the last week to fit the new pipe. Whilst it was out we also gave it a bit of a clean and a lick of paint on the pulleys. Its is now ready to go back in, hopefully for the last time! Today I welded up all the holes that have been drilled in the inner wings over time and smoothed them off and repainted the engine bay.
Tomorrow I will be wrapping the original lighting and electrics loom in some cloth tape and bolting the engine and gearbox up. After that I have clutch pedal, exhaust, radiator and ECU to do as big jobs. Then countless hours doing all the picky things no doubt before it goes in for a respray. It will get there though and as I said I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!
