The old non turbo 1.8 only needs a power feed for the fuel shut off solenoid so it should be very easy.
Other than that you obviously have the starter motor feed and water temp and oil pressure sensor feeds.
So the 1.8 d from a mk4 should without hassle apart from a feed required for the fuel shut off
