had a nice break over xmas but the tablets im on dont seem to do anything so ive not been feeling very car motivated to say the least.
that said, i did manage to wire up the stereo all bar the amp switch and teh ,main battery feed but the wires been made, just needs poking through the bulkhead and conecting.
while in the garage i tried to work out the best way forward regarding the exhaust. seemed to be getting no where fast and the agro was gaining momentum
after a rethink and a bit of bending and cutting i think ill be able to route the exhaust into the existing rear end. ive done some crude measuring and it turns out that the rear pipe just where the twin pipes join by the rear axle widens out to 2". thats the diameter of the new system so a connecting flexi joint now been ordered and hopefully it wil all pull together. ill be able to use the rear hanger too which will mean no new extra hanger would be required.
i was given oil this ages ago for the carb.......makes sense to use the right oil for the job
hoping to get to the bolt shop later, got my box of nuts and bolts in the boot so hopefully ill have a bag of brass nuts by the time i get home.......been trying to get to the shop for months now, stupid really as i could walk there from my house in 20 minutes! just always seems to be something more important to do.
list of jobs left to do,no more than a mornings messing id say.....
1. fit brass nuts on inlet and turbo-10 minutes
2. connect the power feed to the fuel pump to the wire thats 12" away from it-5 minutes
3. join exhaust together-30 minutes
4. spray ns engine bay -5 seconds
5. wrap the exhaust-30 minutes
6. have a pre mot check over underneith and buy any ness parts- 1 hour max
7. clean garage floor under the car and get the old girl off the bloody ramps and back on terra firma-10 minutes
8. take all the rubbish out the boot and off back seat-30 minutes
9. book car into a decent tuners for setting up..............
anyone recomend a good place near gravesend in kent????????
