Right I'm wondering if anyone can help me with this central locking problem, so let me list the symptoms:

- Drivers door will not lock or unlock when remote is used
- Drivers door lock can be heard actuating but as above, doesn't lock/unlock the door
- When the car is locked by remote, the drivers door remains unlocked and when opened I would expect the alarm to go off, this doesn't happen
- When pressing buttons on the remote, you have to hold them down to get any response from the car, sometimes having to press the buttons for as long as 10 seconds to make the system work, this remained the same after changing the remote battery and repairing the key

I thought it could maybe be a stuck solenoid in the drivers door lock, probably due to the cold, but could the GEM/Central Locking and Alarm Control module, would this sound about right? And what are the steps/costs required in fixing this?
