The name OBD1 reader is used, but it makes no sense at all.
OBD1 is an old American standard (before OBD2) that was used up till 1995.
There was nothing defined in OBD1. It only mandated a list of all trouble codes, not how to obtain them.
What you need is a scanner that works with the Ford factory protocol.
