The cross-member bushes are nearly 4" diameter and obviously I don't have any sockets that size but this piece of extractor fan ventilation pipe worked just as well.

The other side of the bush was a nut and an old crush tube. Just wind up the nuts and the bush just popped out without any effort.

On the left is the original Ford rubber bush. On the right is the new poly bush. Apparently, the top ring is optional and I don't think it's needed on my car. These bushes are about 4" diameter!
