Incorrect where i work have had shell dipped and e coated by SPL and the e coat dont get between seams. Prior to that i worked for Honda and that process has the same issues which is why they use galvanized steel and seal prior to spot welding panels together.
But to be fair its the best solution and your doing a
great job saving another saff
