No idea on the NCT, don't see why it would fail though as long as the tyres aren't catching the arch and it's not so low that it won't go on the testers ramp.

Have a loo at brands like KW, spax, gaz etc. They're supposed to be alright, although I don't really know too much about them to comment further. They are supposed to be VERY firm though!
