When I put Mondeo "EsCos style" rims on my 3i many years ago, I struggled to find decent priced 195/45/16 tyres. Ended up Uniroyal RainSport's (RS1's) and very glad I did. By FAR the best tyre I've ever used in the wet. And I think they were about £45 a tyre too (might have been £50) - although that was ten years ago...!
