iirc an 08 Focus could have either. Do they have a dome piece of glass over the dipped beam bulb, like this?



If so it's a projector and you'll be ok with a HID kit as long as you make sure they are aligned correctly. Technically they aren't legal as they won't have levelling on the suspension and headlamp washers but.... And I'm afraid to say 8000k is far too blue to be any use. Take them backif you can and swap them for a set of ideally 4300k but certainly nothing over 6000k.

If it doesn't look like that then you have a reflector type lense and should absolutely not fit a HID kit as the light will scatter and you will dazzle every other poor sod on the road.
