I have a Ford Mondeo 1.8 Tdci 2008 and a couple of week ago it started to have problems on cold mornings and wouldn't start and it took several tries before I got it going, but once it started once, I didn't have a problem for the rest of the day. Now if it starts, it won't start if I turn it off, unless I put my foot to the floor. Mechanic thinks it is the cold start valve/injector.
Can anyone shed some light on this for me. I don't have much cash to get this fixed.

no such thing as a cold start valve. cold starting is done by the ECU chucking more fuel in.
