Safe enough to use if you have a boost gauge fitted to monitor exactly what level of boost your running. My 4x4 saf had a bleed valve fitted temporarily whilst i waited for a replacement amal valve. We set it to run 15 psi and ran like that without any problems, we did have a failsafe though, as my stage 1 chip cuts ignition power to the engine if the boost hits 17 psi.
