I am the lad who did your head gasket at the garage mate. I would be changing the master cylinder on it mate because where the turbo sits it is close to the master and the heat from the turbo has prob melted the seal in it. When you swap it over for a new one make sure you do something about stopping the heat from doing it again and if you get stuck just give us a call at the garage mate and i will try and make a plate for you.
How the hell can radiant heat from a turbo melt the seal in a MC 6" away?
I agree that components do suffer - wiring, uj's etc but to say that a seal in a large metal housing surrounded by fluid had been melted is BS!.
I would say that the seals a fooked due to age and replace them - no scare mongering due to a Focuus with a YB in it.
