Canbus error?
I'm pretty sure I've already convinced myself about this but would like a bit of reassurance
I acquired a little 1.4 petrol fusion 2 that had a small melt of the engine loom wiring, after replacing the loom I found that it was only firing on 2 cylinders, I then replaced the coil pack only to find out it had spiked the ecu. :-/
I sent the ecu of to the ecu doctor, who replaced the output and coil drivers, it came back, we plugged it in and the car ran lovely, however....
I have no speedo and the mileage display just shows dashes, it was working previously as I have seen the odometer reading.
When plugged in, the car is showing a 'can bus' error. Rob at the ecu doctor seems to think that there would be lots more not working if that was the culprit.
Now after a quick google, many people think that the vss causes this too, and indeed the abs module (not even sure it has abs!) but it does seem strange that its gone down since the ecu was repaired (the car hasn't moved in between)
Your thoughts?
