not been here for ages and thought id drop an update on the car.
had the car for 20 years or so , between 2008 and 2010 i striped it to nothing and rebuilt it all be it a bit different to the original look.
turns out the car was fairly popular and classic ford ran a small feature on it and its appeared here and there through other mags too.
then last year i took it off the road as it was running like a pig.
sounded good but was suffering big carb issues so i sorned it.
long story short i started gathering up some turbo parts.....seemed like a good idea at the time

its a t104a single turbo ,janspeed conversion all be it with a few "made up" bits. took it off the road last august and started trying to get the turbo on around march this year. manifold never fitted properly, and there were space issues all over the place but it all went on in the end.
the bigest pain was swapping the sump over single handedly with no lift.
a mate reconed i could raise the ebngine engough to do it without removing the engine.....turns out he was right.
id like to point out that yes if you undo the engine mounts and take off the dizzy cap you can ideed raise the engine high enough from below but its the most poxy job ive done on the car to date.
everything went on eventually, fuel pump hit the bin as it was in the way and a new fuel supply was fitted and the throttle cable was modifed a tad to suit.
then like a wally i sliced my hand open ........off work for a month, plastic surgery to reattatch tendon etc and then phyiso kept me off work......so i used the opportunity to carry on with one hand...itd be rude not to use the time

big day came and unbelievably it fired first time.then sprayed oil everywhere (thanks to the muppet on ebay who sold me it) so a new one was gotten. engine bay is as empty as it can be and apart from a few nigglies the "nailed together tubby build" is almost done.
still need to sort an air fuel gauge, silencer and run a decent fuel pump feed and a couple of fiddly things but as soon as they done its off to a tuners.
the turbo its running is a rotamaster???? yeah its as old as it sounds but was reconditioned by turbo technics. the carb is an su off a rover sd1 and is bolted directly onto the inlet of the turbo. no intercoolers,no boost controller.......not much at all ,just hope its faster than it was before all the agro.
anyway, heres where im at now,its in reverse order as i copied and pasted it from another site im on.
