cam and lifters must be changed together and run in correctly mate. stem seals are a good idea as it can be done on a cvh without taking the head off. you only really need to take the sump off if it's properly chewed the cam up imo. other than that sounds like you got it all nailed. oh and could be worth putting new rocker arm nuts on as the old ones might be a bit weaker now if they've been on and off a few times.
