Hi all,
Been on here a while now, and now ive got plenty of pictures together to put a build thread together.
This is my 3dr sierra cosworth which I bought in December 2011. I would have done a project thread sooner but, in February this year I was a passenger in a bad car accident on the way to work and I was in hospital for 3 and a half months. So its taken me a while to get back in the garage to make a start.
The car was complete and running when I bought it, but with only track intentions in mind, it's been stripped to a bare shell and having a freshen up ready to take the abuse.
The day I picked it up, looking sorry for itself, unused it was caked in mould
First thing on the list was to power wash it
Halfway through cleaning it, much much better, already smiling.
The current spec of the car is;
willwoods 4 pots up front
compomotive alloy 17" wheels,
3" custom exhaust,
fully polybushed,
gaz ghd coilovers,
k&n group A cone filter
blue samco hoses.
It had a good spec, with other upgrades too with it running around 380bhp on a 205 block with a t34 turbo, but I'm going bigger, better and more powerful
Everything started to be stripped down and there were a few issues a long the way, the engine was removed and on inspection we found cracks in the block so I sourced another engine.
Taken in and stripped
200 block engine from a saph 4x4 running healthy.
So at this moment in time, i have bought the following;
front and rear strut braces
roll cage 8 point safety device,
bailey turbo damper,
alloy tanks and rad,
rs500 style intercooler,
full under engine guard,
kevlar gearbox guard,
wrc kevlar diff guard,
standard airbox,
adjustable TCA,
carbon timing belt cover and a smaller drivers head light.
Its going to be a pure track car only, trailored to tracks, so theres needs to be no compromise.
Next plans are to stitch weld and put purspex windows in it to keep the weight down as much as possible.
Here are some pics....
Part of the cage
Then the rest of the sourced bits
Under tray
Will get better pictures now the garage has been cleared to be used again.
Comments welcome
Al.
