Nothing strange about it. It's 55% of the width. You would not and do not expect them to be the same.
Mind you...it's not as bad as the crap I heard a sales guy in a big tyre depot telling a customer one day....a tyre with 50% tread only has 50% as much grip as a new tyre ! LOL
I could barely contain myself listening to the BS !
And people think they can trust them to inspect part worn tyres ?
