Default Ford Fiesta - Screech/Squealing sound from engine at higher revs.

Hi

I was wondering if anyone could help. I have not long purchased a Ford FIESTA LX 3 DOOR HATCHBACK (2004) 1242 Petrol Manual which has done just under 60,000 and was serviced last year.

What i am noticing is a screech/squealing sound coming from the engine whenever i either, push the accelerator right down and the engine revs go up or when i change gear and your hear it just as i come off the clutch and go back on the revs. If i change gear and keep my foot off the accelerator you do not hear it. Its almost like a belt slipping or something and its only for a second you'll hear it, just as the engine accelerates

I've asked around and what has been mentioned so far is the clutch bearing may need replaced or greased. Or that the gear linkages may need greased? The person i bought the car from seems to think its previous owner, his father, had it in the dealership garage a few times about the noise and they could never suss it out, but seemed to think it wasn't anything to worry about!

Does anyone else think they may know what the problem is and indeed if its an issue?

Thanks

Colin.
