plated diffs are more aggressive for sure, but require closer maintainence periods due to it being a friction/mechanical system where plates have to step up ramps to allow to spin etc.

i have had viscous diffs but these tend to cause torque steer over the ATB's, but they have their own issues if a wheel lifts.
