A lithium battery requires very careful management of the charging current and voltage as well as the discharge current and how low the voltage can go. Overcharging is very likely to cause an explosion. If the voltage drops too low the battery will be shot. Using one in place of a regular car battery would require a specialist controller, I think the cost would severely outweigh any potential benefits.
