1.8 Problem.....Stumped!!
Hi Guys, I have a problem with my 2000 Focus, its an 1800 LX. A few weeks ago I went for a drive and it was red hot, so I put the air conditioning on, everything was fine.....I got home, parked her up and in the morning went out and there was no air conditioning, no heaters, it wouldnt even blow cold air. Previous to this, the switch would allow air to blow on 1, 2 and 3 but 4 was a little intermittent. I read online that it may be the heater resistor, or the thermal fuse on the heater resistor which is caused by water getting in. I tested the heater resister and all was fine, I pulled the fan heater out, and using a battery and some wire I determined the fan itself was also fine. I have checked all of the fuses and they too, are fine. The jack socket for the fan, and all the wires leading to the switches are fine, and have power going to them so it seems to me like nothing is wrong, there are no problems anywhere that I can detect, yet I still cannot get my heaters to come on. I had toyed with the idea of running a few wires from the battery and putting a switch in and bypassing everything and just flicking the switch once I needed cooling off, but the car has a stupid Clifford Alarm in, which goes off even if you sneeze near the car and plus I didnt want to bodge anything, wanted a proper solution since the car has had £600 spent on it in the past 2 weeks. I am really at a loss here, and have no idea what it could be or what to try, any help that anyone could give me would really be appreciated!!
Many Thanks,
Stuttz!
