Default when is an engine not an engine

probably a bit of a pointless question but something i was pondering...
At what point does an engine stop being the original part number,
if you take say a cvh and add..
new cam, modify the head, new inlet and exhaust manifolds, new oversize pistons, new rods ,bearings, machined out block, new crank, new flywheel clutch, gearbox etc etc
surely this is no longer a cvh??
don't ask me what it would be called though.
