hello all i'm new here and just thought i'd join the forum and introduce myself seeing as ive just been reading your posts etc..

well i have a 5 door mk 4 escort 1.3 or 1.4 either way its s*it slow and doesnt have the cvh. im in the process of doing a wee bit of work to it. when i bought the car it came with a 1.6 cvh which the prev owner said he had polished out the ports and put 'bigger valve's in' the engine was pretty shoddy even though he said he had it running. it had mountains of cobwebs inside the exhaust ports and he took the rocker cover off and left it so it got caked in crap. it also came with the exhaust gearbox and driveshafts..
i have been slowly sorting the engine out i stripped the head off give it a clean in some gunk and give it a pressure wash out and stuck it back together.. now im just needing a headgasket set..

its on a weber at the mo.. and im just making a list of stuff i need to get before i attempt the weekend job of swapping the engines over..

my list at the moment is:
4 branch exhaust manifold
head gasket set
and thats probably it at the moment ..
what else would you get for it before i put it in ?

btw i can get 100 out of it but it takes a about 6 miles to get there lol
