fans should always suck/blow cold from the front of the car through the radiator, wether there on the inside of the rad or o/side. typical on turbo cars is the fan on the o/side of the rad blowing air through the rad. a fan on the other side (engine side) sucks air through the rad. fan direction depends on the way the fan is wired or you can switch the fan itself so the blades point the opposite way. a fan should never pull hot air through the front of the car, first of all at 10mph+ the hot air would be blown straight back into the engine bay so the fan is essentialy locking in the hot air. the flow through the rad aids airflow through the rad and helps the heat escape (from front to back) also a fan on permanantly restricts airflow through the rad once on the move and should only really be on when air speed isnt fast enough(traffic jams ect)
