advice on a sold van
right, can you all consider this from MY point of view and the BUYER point of view...
Right...
Sold my astravan a fair few weeks ago...
its a 1.7 DTI 2001 astravan.. covered over 170k miles..
sold it for £600
the buyer then rang me a week later saying the engine had blown etc... now i felt bad about this, and luckily i still had cover thru AA for breakdown repair of up to £500.... so have gim my details to ring AA and get a claim... he text me to say AA wasnt prepaired to honour this as he had already taken it to a garage...,
i then offered out of the goodness of me to pay HALF towards a new engine for it... (engines go for around £400 and bare in mind i sold van for £600) so that would be £200 i would of given him towards an engine.
now he's text me saying he want me to cellect van and give him a refund or i have to repair at my cost as this is what "fair tradeing" have told him??
now i was fine with giving him £200 not that i think i HAD TO, but this message today has pissed me right off!!
its a second hand VAN
private SALE
170k miles
now i'd had this van for near enough 3 years and it never let me down...
what should i do?? im not the kind of guy to just run away from this but in reality.... i could??
any of your advice apreciated
