Not knocking you mate but its almost futile to put a plate in with a hole as you achieve nothing in reality.
I would deffo decat tho for 3-5 bhp and better response.
When the euro 3 come, and trobble starts there, we were told from Ford to blank the EGR, and when euro 4 was on, we still do this, but it does not effect as good as on euro 3. Of course you don`t get more bhp of this, but the clean up definitely make better respons.
I just blanked my EGR (whitout drilling a hole)on my 09 Kuga 2tdci, and did a clean up. I get rid of the normal jerking you can feel on al this engines, when EGR open
