I saw that, it sounds like the problem is that work was commissioned by "Iain" and then the box went to the seller, and now onto Adam, so its changed hands twice since that company saw it.
To me the logical resolution would be for the seller to put Adam in contact with this Iain, and hope he is a decent chap (no idea who he is) and will help out with taking it back to the company that did the work to get it fixed?
The guy adam bought it off, sounds like he is just stuck in the middle and never personally had anything to do with the box?
As per say chip i know you get stick on here however i will try to fill few blanks in as i didnt want this thread to get 'messy'
Iain sold it toe chris knowing there could potentially be a issue so he sold it to him considerably CHEAPER than what i paid for it, on the terms theres no come backs he knows what he is buying could be a problem. even if chris did or didnt use the box, he lied and sold it as 'used for 1100 miles working fine'
he then as per pm ADMITS he never tested it therefore misrepresented the sale saying its in good working order, well how can he know if he never tested it? tbh i think we all got screwed here HOWEVER the seller has a duty to the buyer to give the correct information to the best of their knowledge and if there is a problem to rectify it....
He's basically told me tough shit its not his problem i must have broken it as 4th gear was never a issue however the mechanics have only run the box in the air on axel stand to check it works and it clearly doesn't....
hope this helps clear up some blanks
also edit to say by screwed i mean i dont blame iain here i think the company clearly either didnt spot the problem or didnt know how to fix it the company are really IMO to balme here but chris should be resolving this knowing whjat he bought and the FULL STORY..
