Hello, I've been having trouble with my 07 fiesta bonnet. I solved my first problem which was that the bonnet wouldn't shut, now i have a bigger problem! The plastic 'arm' you pull which is under the bonnet has snapped. I think all my slamming and fiddling has caused this. I am wondering how to fix it and if i can do it myself. I didn't want to open the bonnet again if i can't open it all the way or then close it again.

I have the piece of plastic and its about 6 inches long so i'm thinking it would be awkward/impossible to get something under the bonnet and pull the other end that it was attached to.
