surely if the security systems have been compromised this badly, the manufacturer is liable for rectifying the weakness under a recall type system???

Id imagine its a software reprogram needed to lock out the OBD pats bypass.

oh not to mention that thatcham would shit a brick and revoke their rating of the affected alarm systems and thus the cars will be virtually uninsurable with manufacturer security.
