I have never been, but intended to go this year, plans changed at the last minute.
Sign of the times really, if the scene is in decline then they will obviously have to project attendance numbers at the planning stage and charge per head to cover their costs, no brainer there.
Don't pretend to know the first thing about setting up the shows but if they cut their margins and gave better incentives to traders and clubs/exhibitors then it would atleast have the appearance of being busier, but you still have to get the numbers through the door and that takes money for advertising.
I think it would be better if they either shifted the venue or partnered with another show or marque by what you have all said, but I guess I'd have to see it for my self.
