As any decent DIYer or full time tech will know the most common failure is a broken ratchet head, this is another thing that halfords wont change under warranty but how often will the handle break? Snap-on ratchets are lifetime on all parts of the ratchet inc the head.
Almost all of my tools are Halfords pro/advanced, and the only tools I think are sub standard are the torx sockets. Managed to twist and even break a couple of them now. Everything else (spanners, sockets ratchets etc) are great quality. And I've never had an issue changing anything over, just show it's faulty and they change it. You have to be in the trade to get their trade discount card, so there is no problem going in yr overalls etc.
